Description

We now offer Servicing and Repair for all MicroFoggers.

When an MF2, 3 or 4 refuses to work – the fault is often quite easy to rectify.

The most common issues are

  • Fog fluid ingress inside the casing (caused by fog fluid being left in the reservoir tank for a time or perished seals
  • Fan runs but no smoke ….. is usually a faulty coil – or a coil not making a good electrical contact (see video below)
  • Battery having been left in a deep dicharged state for a lengthy period.  It can then take up to 24hrs to recover on a mains USB charger

Preventing Fog Fluid Ingress

Microfoggers are generally very reliable in use – even over prolonged use – however if the instructions regarding fluid tank removal are not followed at the end of each operational session – over time – fluid may enter the inside of the unit and ‘short’ the PCB.  The video below shows how to remove and store the fluid tank.

Poor Coil Contact

If the fan runs but no smoke is produced – it is almost certainly an issue with the coil.  First check the coil condition and if necessary fit a new coil.  It may also be due to a poor electrical contact at the base of the coil.  The video below shows how to rectify that situation.

Charging MicroFoggers

We always recommend that you charge a Fogger from a mains sourced USB charger; ie not from a computer or Powerpack.

If you allow a battery to become very depleted it may take up to 12 hours to begin recharging properly.

Fluid Ingress

This is often due to fluid being left in the fluid reservoir tank for a length period of time – and especially so if the MF unit has been left on its side.  The fog fluid is very good at finding imperfections in seals – so keep those in good order.

Fluid on the insides (and on PCB) is not usually a fatal situation.  A strip down, clean, dry and reassembly usually manages to rectify the situation.

The 2 videos below show in Part 1 – How to strip a unit down and in Part 2 – How to re-assemble and test an MF fogger.

Part 1   Disassembly & Clean

Part 2   Re-assembly

We do carry a good selection of spare parts for MF3s and MF4s (parts for MF2s – having been discontinued for a couple of years now …. and are a problem).

To order spares – See:- MF Spares

Service & Clean (& Repair)

If you would prefer to return to us for servicing and repair – our standard Service and Clean cost is £55 plus return carriage per unit (+VAT).

If the fault is due to a malfunctioning component – we do carry a good stock of spare parts (limited for MF2s).  In these situations we can then provide a quotation for the repair.

Repairs are usually much cheaper than replacing the entire unit (ie purchasing a new MicroFogger).

If you would like to have your unit serviced and cleaned then select the option below and arrange for the unit to be posted to us asap.  Turn-around time at the moment is typically 5 – 7 working days,

If you would like to discuss a repair then in the first instance send an email to admin@inventys.co.uk and provide as much information as you can.
